Music Schedule

GO FEST is a grassroots event organized by a group of people who are passionate about the outdoors.  We believe in celebrating what makes the Roanoke Region such a great place and music is part of that.

We're excited to partner with the Music Lab at Jefferson Center and CityWorks (X)po Big Ideas for Small Cities for your listening enjoyment.  The Music Lab represents an innovative model of experiential learning in music business, technology, and performance as an extension of the education area schools provide. The Music Lab prepares local youth for future education, careers, and interests in the music and entertainment industries. The Music Lab students will handle all aspects of GO FEST music - from booking bands to ensuring it sounds stellar.

All live music takes place Saturday (10/20):

  • 1:00 PM – BUKURU CELESTIN AND FRIENDS – Music Lab students from Burundi Africa, traditional African gospel music
  • 1:45 PM – ANOTHER ROADSIDE ATTRACTION - gypsy jazz, vaudeville, circus funhouse, and riverboat steam
  • 3:00 PM – GABE MORALES TRIO – Music Lab students – 13 year old blues guitar phenom and friends
  • 4:00 PM – GRASS MONKEY - An evolved string-band with alternative influences
  • 5:00 PM – CHICHA LIBRE - plays a mixture of latin rhythms, surf music and psychedelic pop inspired by Peruvian music
  • 6:00 PM - OCCONECHEE NIGHTHAWKS - play high energy appalachian stringband music.
  • 7:15 PM – AMBER RUBARTH with DAVE EGGAR & DEORO – Singer-songwriter with virtuoso cello fuses classical, reggae, bluegrass, jazz, pop and world music
  • 8:45 PM – MORELAND & ARBUCKLE  - early 20th century Delta blues mixed with the raw energy of post-World War II urban blues and distilled into a hard-driving and powerful garage-rock configuration of guitar, vocals, harp and drums.
