A balance bike race for ages 2-5 being presented by East Coasters Bike Shop.
Join us for the FIRST EVER Carilion Children's Hospital Strider Bike Race in Roanoke! On both Saturday and Sunday from 11am-1pm, Carilion Children's Hospital and East Coasters Bike Shop will be pairing up to host the most adorable (and surprisingly exciting) bike race you've ever seen.
What is a STRIDER Race? STRIDER Regional Races are race and play experiences created at the grassroots level and are designed to let toddlers and young kids ages 2- 5 years old explore the world on two wheels and participate in some friendly competitive riding. Children of all sizes and skill levels are welcome to participate. Strider “No-pedal” balance bikes are developed for both learning the ropes of riding and honing advanced skills in racing.
So come register your children ages 2-5 onsite just prior to the race (REGISTRATION from 10am-11am both mornings) at the East Coaster Bike Shop Booth in the BIKE ZONE. Children will only race with other children of their age and will be provided with bikes and all necessary equipment to race. If you have your own bike, please feel free to bring it. All participants will be cheered on while they navigate the simple yet exciting kids bike course in a friendly competition with other bikers to be. If you have questions prior to race day please email Kim Parker with East Coasters Bike Shop.
The KIDS BIKE DEMO COURSE will be open to the public during all open vendor hours at GO Fest, so even if they don't want to "race" all kids should feel welcome to try out a Strider Bike from East Coasters!
